Welcome to Onset School of Music’s Summer Sessions

Ages (9-12) & (13-16)

This summer (’10) we will be recruiting 10 young musicians within each age group (9-12) & (13-16) to participate in our summer session. These musicians will form 2 competing bands, so we can have our own ‘Battle of the Bands’ at the end of the two weeks.

This is how it works:

• Each session will begin as a Master class
• Within each Master class we will explore the 5 major instruments (piano, guitar, bass, drums, voice) of a band while learning about key topics such as song writing, rhythms, theory, recording, stage presence, etc…
• After the Master class we will break into our 2 bands, where we will prepare a cover song and write an original song to showcase and compete on the final day of camp
• All participants will receive a CD of their bands performance to take home

Summer Sessions will run:

• Monday – Friday, July 12 – July 23 for Ages (9-12)
• Monday – Friday, August 2 – 13 for Ages (13-16)

• Drop off: 9:00 AM
• Session Starts at 9:30 AM
• Session Ends at 12:00 PM (Noon)
• Pick up between 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM

Cost: $425 Per participant for the 2 week session
