Julian Spiro – Violin/Viola/Cello
Julian Spiro is a violinist from Cleveland, OH. Inspired by masters of jazz and pop violin like Stuff Smith and L Shankar as well as by the greats of the classical tradition, Julian is active as a session musician and rock violinist in the Boston area.
Julian began playing violin at the age of four, studying with Cleveland Orchestra members while training and performing internationally with friends and family as part of the performing group the Agnon Five. He studied violin performance and world music traditions at Oberlin Conservatory and the University of California, Santa Barbara, and has performed nationally and internationally with ensembles such as the Chautauqua Festival Orchestra, the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and Cleveland Opera Circle. Last year, Julian toured the US with the rock band Viewers Of.
Before moving to the Boston area, Julian founded a violin studio in Cleveland, and is dedicated to sharing his love of music with students. His approach as a teacher is grounded in the belief that music is for everybody, and he enjoys working with students to develop their individual creative voices.
