Lori L'Italien has been performing on stage since her first dance classes at 4 years old. She showed an early love for the stage when, after her first dance recital, she ran up on stage and started singing for the parting crowd! She hasn't stopped since! She performs regularly with local and regional companies in Massachusetts and Maine.

Lori holds a master's degree in Opera Performance from Longy School of Music. She is a graduate of the University of Maine where she earned her bachelor's degree in music education with a concentration in voice. Her teachers have included Nancy Ogle, Donna Roll and currently Robert Honeysucker.

She has taught in just about every field of music including: general music, theory and composition, band, chorus, guitar, world drumming, piano and dramatic arts for ages 3 - 60. She has also taught several music and movement classes as well as early exposure to music classes with pre-school - kindergarten students. She currently teaches voice for The Metropolitan Opera Guild in their Urban Voices program. She also teaches voice, beginning piano privately in Somerville and West Newton as well as music exposure lessons for young children. She enjoys and encourages studying a wide variety of music including but not limited to classical, pop, braodway, opera, rock, contemporary, jazz, standards. Lori has recently been selected to serve as the Metropolitan Opera Guild's representative on the Music-In-Education National Consortium.
