Cliodhna Field – (ONLINE ONLY)
My name is Cliodhna “Cleana” Field and I am certified elementary and high school teacher with a BA in music, three Masters in music performance, music Education and Elementary Ed. I have been teaching actively since I was 16 years of age! Since my move to Boston in 2012 I have been teaching privately, part time with Suzuki Boston Institute and Bosse music school. I also have taught music as an elementary school teacher here in Boston. Over the past few years I have been running gigs around many venues in Boston including the ICC. I have recently began a weekly traditional Irish music setting for children in Weymouth. We focus on learning tunes and arranging the music in an ensemble/group setting. Some of these students are involved with the comhltas here in Boston and bring beautiful repertoire to the session. Being a classically trained violinist I believe it is important to focus on the technique of music playing on the violin while enhancing the fun and beauty of it also and instilling confidence in my students as they perform. Music is a theraputic art and has a vital role in our mental and emotional development. Furthermore, I feel it is of great importance for me as a teacher and performer to enhance Irish music learning, performance and most importantly growth in our society here in Boston.
