Dan Slyker – In STUDIO & Online

Dan Slyker was born in Miami Beach, Florida, into a Coast Guard family which allowed him to see and live in many places around the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Getting in trouble in 2nd grade on the school bus for constantly drumming with pencils on those sweet faux leather seats landed him a mandatory sentence in band class the following year. From there he never looked back, drumming in school bands and rock bands all through high school and college.

A degree in music education from The University of South Florida and 12 years’ experience as a K-12 music/band teacher allow Mr. Slyker to teach many instruments including brass, woodwinds, piano, guitar, piano, drum set/percussion, as well as music theory, songwriting and composition.

On stage, Dan has worked for the national dueling piano nightclub chain, Howl at the Moon, since 2006 as a performer, entertainment director and regional director. This in addition to an impressive freelance schedule has him playing over 200 shows a year as an all-request piano entertainer.

Mr. Slyker is proud to be part of the Onset team and excited to use his vast experience to help the next generation of musicians!
