Kavita Shankar – (In Studio & online)

Kavita Shankar is a recent graduate from Boston University with a Masters in Violin Performance. She attended Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music, and graduated in May of 2018 with a Bachelors in Violin Performance and an Emphasis in Chamber Music. Kavita was a member and founder of the Sun Quartet, a string quartet comprised of undergraduate performance majors at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory. With this chamber group, she had the opportunity to perform three recitals and participate in competitions, galas, and other services. Kavita has also played with many orchestras, including the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra here in Massachusetts. 

Apart from being a performer, Kavita also loves to teach music. She has been teaching for over 5 years, and has taught students of all ages and levels. Not only is Kavita a Western Classical musician, but she also has a background in South Indian Carnatic music. She has been studying Carnatic Voice and Violin lessons since she was a child, and has experience teaching the style as well.
