Matthew Edwards – (ONLINE ONLY)
Inspired by such artists as Marcus Miller, Charles Mingus, Les Claypool, Ron Carter and Avishai Cohen, it is not a wonder why Matthew Edwards has a strong sense of groove, melody, and funkiness in his playing. He has performed in groups that have shared the stage with Pink and Everclear and played in the string section with the Dropkick Murphys in numerous shows as well as performing on their album “The Meanest of Times” and appearing on their live DVD “Live at Landsdowne”. Matthew has also played with local artists, playing on their recordings as well as going on tours and performing nationally on NPR’s “All Things Considered”.
Matthew originally comes from the southwest but came to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. He studied with the amazing bass faculty at Berklee including: Esperanza Spalding, Jim Stinnett, Anthony Vitti, Dave Clark, and Dave Buda. Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Professional Music with an emphasis in performance and business.
