Peter Subramanian – Violin / Viola

Peter Raymond Subramanian grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania and moved to Boston
in 2021. He spent his childhood listening to a diverse catalogue of music, ranging from south
Indian classical violin to European classical music, funk, R&B, and J-Pop. He began taking violin
lessons following the Suzuki method at age seven, and started playing Celtic and American folk
styles in late high school. Peter’s foundation for music has always been vocal, participating in
church, school, and community choir from elementary school through high school.
Now, Peter is finishing his undergraduate degree at Berklee College of Music where he is
studying jazz violin, hand percussion, and teaching methods. He remains an active member in
the Irish trad communities of Philadelphia and Boston and is always looking for opportunities to
share his passion for community-centered music.
